In finance, we have a term, "other people's money."  The politics built on other people's money isn't just fiscally unsound, but psychologically seductive.  Progressive policy design increasingly caters to four deeply rooted negative human tendencies. Dependency, risk displacement, infantilization, and grievance incentives.  Those aren't partisan inventions.  They're human nature. The divide exists because one side has learned to weaponize them.  I remember during the COVID-planned demic, Democrats enacted Obamacare subsidies, and they called them emergency.  So what government called generosity, the public experiences an upgrade in lifestyle.
