Sharia is the spine of Islamic thought. Codified and forced, upheld across the centuries. It governs every facet of life, down to what you wear, what you eat, what you’re allowed to say, who you can marry, what rights women don’t have, what punishments must be meted out to the disobedient. There’s no distinction between moral failure and criminal offense. Under Sharia law, there’s no distinction between moral failure and criminal offense.  Apostates are to be executed, homosexuals thrown from rooftops or killed in some other way, thieves mutilated, women veiled, owned, constrained, beaten. Contracts, taxes, warfare are governed by a divine statute - not civic reason. This is not the religion as America understands religion. It’s a comprehensive theocratic legal system that seeks not peaceful coexistence, but total submission!
