"Nepali Floods" by Steve AdamsOn August 26, the world learned of a catastrophic flood that tore through Nepal.  As the videos came in on that fateful day last month, my heart sank as the realization began to set in how utterly devastating this event was and how many lives would be lost.  I too wondered if the people I knew were okay.I spoke with a close friend via video chat.  He told me that thousands are dead or missing and thousands more displaced and cut off from supplies.  Because this event severed the East West roads between Kathmandu and Pokhara, fuel and food is not getting through and whole districts are now isolated due to flood damage and terrain limitations.I have been humbled to have received countless calls from people who know I spent time in Nepal.  These people want to know if I am okay and if my friends are affected.  There is so much we can complain about in our world, but I am comforted that the shared compassion of humanity is still universal.Sponsored by the Caylor Financial Planning Group in Lynchburg, Virginia.
